Sharepoint generated emails going to outlook junk folder

Issue:

Sharepoint workflow generated emails are going to outlook junk folder

Cause:

“X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthAs: Anonymous”

From the message header, noticed that there is an attribute “X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthAs: Anonymous”. The messages generated by Sharepoint app are taken as anonymous email, as a result, Exchange server put it in the junk folder.

Resolution

Create a Transport Rule to set the SCL value of these emails to “-1
Please follow below steps to create a Transport Rule to set SCL value of the messages -1:

1). Create a new Transport Rule on Exchange Management Console:

2). On the Conditions step, select from people and then select the Sharepoint sender email address.

3). On the Actions step, select set the spam confidence level to value and then set it “-1”.

How to change expired email password in OWA & How to login to OWA with enabled User must change password at next logon

Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP1 has a feature that will allow users with expired passwords to change their password. This also works for users who have their accounts configured to change password on next logon (User must change password at next logon in ADUC).

Changing the register setting on CAS servers which Enable above features.Here is the steps
1. Start Registry Editor (regedit).
2. Locate the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchange OWA.
3. Create the following DWORD value if it doesn’t already exist: ChangeExpiredPasswordEnabled. The value type will be REG_DWORD.
4. Set the value of ChangeExpiredPasswordEnabled to 1.
5. Exit Registry Editor

How to Perform Maintenance on Exchange 2010 DAG Node

The best practice is to put the exchange DAG node in maintenance mode when performing any type of software or hardware maintenance. This involves moving all active databases off the server and blocking active databases from moving to the server.Please refer to the following steps:

1. On the DAG member server, navigate to the script folder, by default under “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Scripts”:

2. Use script “StartDagServerMaintenance” to put the DAG member server into maintenance mode:

.\StartDagServerMaintenance.ps1 –serverName “DAGnode2”

Note: Please replace “DAGnode2” with the DAG member server name which you want to put into maintenance mode.

3.After that, the DAG member server will be put into maintenance mode, the script will do the following

Move all the active databases off of the server
Set the “DatabaseCopyAutoActivationPolicy” to Blocked on the mailbox server, thus it will block databases from moving to that server;
ake sure all critical DAG support functionality (for example, the Primary Active Manager PAM role) that might be on the server is moved to another server, and blocked from moving back to the server.

4. After finish your maintenance activities bring the DAG member out of maintenance mode. So use the “StopDagServerMaintenance” scripts which is also reside in the scripts folder to stop maintenance mode on DAG Node

5.Navigate to the script folder again , by default under “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Scripts”:

.\StopDagServerMaintenance.ps1 -serverName “DAGnode2”

Above script “StopDagServerMaintenance” is used to stop the maintenance for the specified server

Call-ClusterExe-cluster.exe did not succeed, but 5058 was not a retry-able error code

Error

Getting below warning when run StopDagServerMaintenance.ps1 script on Exchange 2010 DAG Node .The warning message is as below:

WARNING: [UTC] Call-ClusterExe: cluster.exe did not succeed, but 5058 was not a retry-able error code. Not attempting any other servers. This may be an expected error by the caller.

Cause

The script looks for the Cluster service to be in a paused state and try to resume it.But Cluster service already running state and not required action .The DAG member server could have been already taken out of the maintenance mode.

Exchange 2007 server was not removed gracefully and unable to bring the server online.

How to delete a 2007 exchange server from a domain when it doesn’t exist anymore?

Resolution

Step 1: Please make sure you take valid System backup from a domain controller (PDC is preferable)

Step 2: Login to DC which holds Global catalog

Open AdsiEdit console by Run -> Adsiedit.msc

Select the Configuration container and browse to the below path.

CN=Configuration, DC=Domain_Name,DC=com

CN=Services

CN=Microsoft Exchange

CN=Your_Organization_Name

CN=Administrative Groups

CN=Exchange Administrative Group < Guid >

Note : The Exchange 2007 administrative group is called Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT).

Searching Outlook Global Address book by phone Number, title …

By default outlook global address book search is enabled on few attributes like givenName, surname, displayName, EmailAddress,Alias etc . If you want to search outlook address book using different attribute field like telephone number ,position that may be beneficial in your environment, then the ‘ANR’ function has to be enabled on the attribute field.

What is ANR (Ambiguous Name Resolution )?

ANR is the ability of an Exchange/LDAP client to determine information based on partial data

When using an Outlook, a user might enter partial data in the From, To, CC or Bcc fields. The client, with the help of the Exchange directory will try to match the partial data and provide the address of the matching object.. If an exact match is found then the address representing the matching object will be auto completed.

How to enable Searching outlook Global Address book by phone number & Position…

Enable “Index this attribute in the active directory” and “Ambiguous Name Resolution” in Domain controller holding Schema Master

To activate the Schema MMC snap-in follows these steps:

1. Login to Domain controller with Schema admin permissions

2. Open Start>Run>MMC

3. Open the ‘Console’ menu and choose ‘Add/Remove Snap-in’.

4. Click ‘Add’ and choose the ‘Active Directory Schema’.

5. Click ‘Add’.

6. Click ‘Close’.

7. Expand the ‘Active Directory Schema’.

8. Open ‘Attributes”

Enable ANR to search in outlook using "Telephone-number"

9. Search for "Telephone-number" — properties.

10. Click to select the “Index this attribute in the active directory” and “Ambiguous Name Resolution” check box.

Enable ANR to search in outlook using "title"

1) Search for "title" — properties.

2) Click to select the “Index this attribute in the active directory” and “Ambiguous Name Resolution” check box.

Once AD Replication is complete, you can Search Global address book by telephone number , employee title..

Note : Please follow the same procedure if require to enable other attributes
